Guizhou is the only China province without any plains. The mountainous terrain is widely covered by karst landscapes and a lot of forested areas. Mountains and hills take up over 97% area of Guizhou Province where visitors could see the most typical Karst area in the world.
There are many ethnic groups in the province with a population of 39,310,000. Forty-nine ethnic groups are living in Guizhou, 17 of whom are ethnic minorities and have lived here for generations. Ten ethnic groups of Han, Miao, Bouyei, Dong, Tujia, Yi, Gelao, Shui, Hui and Bai have a population of over 100,000 respectively. The population of ethnic minorities account for 36.77% of the provincial total, ranking third in China.

Fanjing Mountain 梵净山
The literal translation is: brahma net mountain. Mnt Fanjing, located in Tongren, Guizhou province, is the highest peak of the Wuling Mountains in Southwestern China, at an elevation of 2,570 m (8,430 ft). Fanjingshan is a sacred mountain in Chinese Buddhism, considered to be the bodhimaṇḍa of the Maitreya Buddha.
The mountain's name "Fanjing" is an abbreviation of Fantian Jingtu (梵天净土), or "Brahma's Pure Land". Fantian is the Chinese name for the Buddhist heavenly king Brahmā, and Jingtu is Chinese for "pure land", the focus of Pure Land Buddhism.

Qianling Hill Park 黔灵山公园
Situated on Qianling Hill 1.5 kilometers (0.9 miles) from the center of Guiyang City, Qianling Hill Park is home to a wide variety of birds, and many macaques, which love to play with tourists, showing harmonious atmosphere between man and nature. Qianling Hill Park, whose percentage of forest cover is over 98% because of the Qianling Mountain, is the perfect habitat for macaques. More than 500 live in Macaque Garden. They frolic and jump, energetic and enchanting. Out of the big cities in China, it is only Guiyang that has such a large garden for monkeys.

Huangguoshu Waterfalls 黃果树大瀑
Huangguoshu (literally "Yellow Fruit Tree") Waterfall Scenic Area is located in the Zhenning Buyi Miao Autonomous County of Anshun, 45 kilometers from Anshun town, and 128 kilometers from Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province. The area is Guizhou’s number one tourist attraction and is considered the Niagara Falls of China. It is the largest in Asia. I had the privilege of visiting here the first time in 1984 when I first came to China.
Maling River Canyon 贵州马岭河大峡谷
Maling River Canyon Scenic Spot is a state-level scenic spot. It is located at the juncture of Yunnan, Guangxi and Guizhou Provinces in Xingyi City of Guizhou Province, about 334 kilometers (around 208 miles) southwest of Guiyang, the capital city. This scenic spot is a display of karst features with multiple stratifications and categories. It is famous for its deep rift, waterfalls and calcium tapestries.
It is said that the Maling River Canyon consists of around 100 waterfalls, each 100 meters (about 109 yards) high or more. The most beautiful waterfalls are the Pearl Waterfall and the Rainbow Waterfall. The Pearl Waterfall is a group of waterfalls dropping from a 100-meter (about 109 yards) high cliff. Droplets of these waterfalls splutter in all directions like abundant pearls in the air. The Rainbow Waterfall consists of eight waterfalls pouring down at the same time. As they arrive at the bottom, a mist of water rises and rainbows appear in the sunshine.
Wanfenglin (Forest of Ten Thousands Peaks) 万峰林
Wan Fenglin, commonly known as Wan Fenglin, is one of the five most beautiful peak forests in China and one of the three karst landforms in southwest China. It is located in Xingyi City, Qianxinan Prefecture, Guizhou Province, about 45 kilometers (30 miles) and consists of eastern and western peak forests with different landscapes. East peak forest is characterized by karst peak clusters, while west peak forest is a typical karst plateau landscape. At present, the main tourist area in Wan Fenglin is Xifeng Forest, which has beautiful peaks surrounded by green fields, winding rivers and quaint villages.
